Life of a plantlet
Begins as a sprout
Then carries the buds of the morrow.
Pampered by sunlight
Fed by the rain
It grows its claws deeper
And deeper over the days.
Yet a day comes
When it has to sleep off
A night that never ends.
My heart is cold
I taste the dark
I am the goddess of death.
I follow you closely
A step behind you
Impregnable to lazy eyes.
A breath behind the back of your neck
I never leave your side.
Flickering lights
The frozen wind
The clock is ticking away.
You cannot buy me
Or disguise your ageing self from me.
Unstoppable
Inevitable
One day it's all to end.
I cannot be hated
Or be stated
As I'm undefined.
I am beyond life,
Above all pain
I am the goddess of death.
